Scholarships

The PIA VA/DC Scholarship empowers aspiring and current insurance agents to elevate their careers. This program recognizes individuals who demonstrate dedication to the industry and a desire to expand their knowledge. Scholarship awards cover designation courses, helping recipients gain valuable credentials and advance their expertise. Whether you're a college student entering the field or a seasoned agent seeking to specialize, the PIA VA/DC Scholarship bridges the financial gap, paving the way for a successful and fulfilling insurance career.

Scholarships are awarded twice a year from the PIA Education Foundation and the Elsie Reamy Scholarship Fund to cover registration fees for certain courses.

Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Applicants must:

Be actively engaged in the insurance business.

Be a member of PIA of VA & DC.

Use their scholarship within 12 months.

Cover all other course-related expenses EXCEPT registration fee.

Take the exam at the end of the class if applicable.

Scholarships are awarded for the following programs and are for one class only; not the entire series or designation.  Scholarships cannot be used for designation updates.

Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)

Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)

Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA)

Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
